The car was one of the 3 Mondeo's run by Ford Racing and Prodrive in the 2000 BTCC season. The team won the championship with a 1,2,3 finish. These cars, along with some other top manufacturers racing saloon's at the time came to be known as the Supertourers. Run on massive budgets and supported by their 'brands' these cars put in times and speeds still well respected, even by today's standards.
